A Note on Meals
During the trek, you can order from the lodge menu each day. However, for your health and safety, we do not recommend (and do not cover) meat dishes beyond Namche Bazaar. At higher altitudes, fresh meat becomes increasingly scarce. We therefore strongly recommend choosing vegetarian options, which are generally fresher and safer to eat on the trek
A Note on Flights
Direct Kathmandu–Lukla flights are usually more available outside the main trekking seasons. During peak periods, especially spring and autumn, most flights may be rerouted via Ramechhap due to air traffic congestion in Kathmandu. Frequently Asked Questions
How much does the Everest Base Camp trek cost?
The package price depends on the number of travelers: the more people in your group, the lower the price per person. The price table on this page shows the rate per person in Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). International flights to Kathmandu are not included.
Do I need a visa for Nepal?
Most travelers can get a Nepal tourist visa on arrival at Kathmandu airport: 15 days USD 30, 30 days USD 50 and 90 days USD 125. Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months, and check the latest entry requirements for your nationality before you fly. This trip takes 14 days, so the 30-day visa is the safer choice in case of flight delays.
Is the Everest Base Camp trek suitable for beginners?
The trek is rated challenging. You walk for several days in a row, covering around 130 km in total, and sleep at high altitude, with Everest Base Camp at 5,364 m (17,598 ft) and Kala Patthar at 5,644 m (18,517 ft). The itinerary includes two acclimatization days, in Namche Bazaar and Dingboche, but good fitness and some training beforehand will make the trip much more enjoyable. We recommend speaking to your doctor about altitude sickness (AMS) and any preventive medication.
When is the best time to trek to Everest Base Camp?
October (autumn) and April (spring) are the best months, with stable weather and clear mountain views. December to February is very cold and snowy, but the trails are much quieter. June to August is the monsoon season: trails are slippery and prone to landslides, and clouds often hide the mountains.
What about vegetarian and other dietary needs on the trek?
During the trek you order from the lodge menu each day. We do not recommend eating meat beyond Namche Bazaar because fresh meat is hard to get at altitude; vegetarian dishes are fresher and safer. If you have halal or other dietary requirements, please contact us before the trip.
Is insurance included?
No. Travel insurance is mandatory but not included in the package. Your policy must cover high-altitude trekking and emergency helicopter evacuation above 5,000 meters.
What happens if my flight to Lukla is delayed?
Flights to Lukla depend heavily on the weather, so delays and schedule changes can happen. During the peak spring and autumn seasons, most flights may also be rerouted via Ramechhap. Our team will rearrange your schedule as needed, but extra costs caused by delays due to extreme weather, such as additional nights in Kathmandu or Lukla, are not included in the package. We recommend keeping a few spare days before your international flight home.
